Imagining your game

  • WHO are you designing your game for? (Include the player's age, abilities, and prior knowledge of your topic.)  I am designing the game for my class mates and other 8th grade students, ages 12, 13, 14
  • WHAT will your game teach the player about your topic? (Be specific!) My game will teach about world history.
  • WHERE does your game happen?  Ocean on the titanic
    • Describe the world you will design for your game. I really havent thought much about the place of  the game but I was thinking maybe the titanic be a setting.

    • How will this setting add to the learning experience? I think this setting can add the learning exsperience because this in my opinon is such an interesting historal story that was real.
  • HOW does your game world teach the player about your topic? Becuase in the ocean was where the titanic sank at.
    • What happens in the world that helps the player learn? My partners and I really havn't thought to much about our game but we have thought about making the titanic and making to where you can move it around the ocean.
    • How does the player use what they learned to make something happen in the game? They will have to move the titanic and make sure they don't hit the iceburg while traveling to there destination.
  • WHY is a game a better way of understanding your topic than a quiz? It makes the topic more fun instead of learning it just by studying.

Playing to Learn

We have been doing Playing to Learn almost all week. I've played many differnt genres in playing to learn but the one genre I like most was adventure games. I like this genre because it has many fun games with this genre, and I do believe that my partners and I will make a good game with Adventures. Sally's Energy Ride was the one game that stood out the most to me in adventures because it was a very good game that teaches students how to take better care of the earth, it also has excellant graphics. Well I guess thats all for this week, thanks for reading!(:

My Final Blog

This is my final blog I am happy to say that school is almost over! I'm gonna miss globaloria class because I've learned so much in this class. I hope next year I will be able to be in globaloria next year with all my friends. In my opinon of this class I enjoyed it a lot it was fun but kinda hard at times but with my friends and my teacher Mr.Lester they always figured out my problem of my game. I will miss this class very much but hopefully next year I will know better what I'm doing and how to do stuff on my game better.

Westest

Well westest is finally over! I was so glad to see it end I thought some parts was hard but other parts was pretty easy. I think all the teachers did a good job teaching us what we needed to know for the westest. I hope I do good and all my friends and students do good as well. I hope everyone enjoyed my blog, what do you think about Westest?

Game comments

Our game presentation went pretty good. Me and my partner got a lot of good comments but not many suggestions to do to our game. I am very proud of our game and I think we have worked very hard to get our game complete. I hope everyone enjoys our game and gets a educational meaning to it.

Our Game is almost finished

We have been working very hard on our game we are almost complete. We still have to do the hit test. We have about three more scenes to do. The one scene we do have complete is the drink scene you can use the aero keys to  move the waitress to the correct answer, then it will go to the "congrats scene". Our game is to teach students how to do input output tables. I can't wait to complete our game, I hope everyone enjoys it!
